The author

Why I Started Faith & Paradox

I’m Nathaniel Jones, an author and the creator of Faith & Paradox, a project devoted to exploring difficult questions of faith, theology, and philosophy. I’m drawn to these questions for a simple reason: I want answers. Uncertainty does not sit easily with me, and much of my writing begins with the need to understand ideas that resist simple conclusions.

That search has become more personal as I prepare to become a father to a daughter. Questions about truth, belief, morality, responsibility, and meaning matter to me not only in the abstract, but in the kind of father I hope to become and the values I hope to pass on.

I write from a Christian perspective, while aiming to examine arguments and evidence as fairly as possible. Faith & Paradox is not built on the assumption that every difficult question will produce one clean answer. Some paradoxes lead to competing conclusions, and reasonable people may interpret the same evidence differently. My goal is to distinguish argument from conviction: to examine the question carefully, present the strongest reasoning I can, and then be clear about where I personally stand. Readers are free to reach their own conclusions.

I created Faith & Paradox to reach readers who, like me, are not satisfied with easy answers. Through books, studies, and reflections, I hope to create a place for serious inquiry, honest disagreement, encouragement, and deeper thought. I’m the author of The Omnipotence Paradox and continue to explore the questions that arise where faith, reason, doubt, and belief meet.
